2011 - 2012 Executive Board:
President: Theresa Carey - Theresa has been officiating since 1991. She has served on ratings committee and executive board as part of the HVBO. She has been a member of the Executive Board since the beginning of WPWBOA. Theresa is the Administrative Director of Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Services for Bronx Lebanon Hospital. In addition to officiating Theresa does Crossfit workouts and triathlons. Her vision for her two years as President is to enhance training for all our members and encourage all to be physically fit.
Vice President: Bob Sutherland - Bob has been a member of the WPWBOA since 2004 and IAABO 52/161 for the past 31 years. He has served on the education committee of the HVBOA, is past president of IAABO 161, has served on board 161's ratings and ethics committee and is currently the assistant interpreter.
Interpreter: John DiVernieri - John is a lifelong resident of Westchester County and a graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He has a Bachelors degree from Mercy College and a Masters degree from Pace University. John was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Highlights of his work career, where he has held various managerial positions, are Esso (1 yr), New York Telephone (11 yrs), IBM (27 yrs retired) and AT&T (3 + yrs). John has been officiating Basketball since 1990 (IAABO) and 1991 (WPWBOA). John has served as the Basketball rules interpreter for the WPWBOA since 2003 and feels it's an honor to give back to the sport that has given him so much. John is married and has three grown children.
Secretary: Margaret Fraina - Muggsy became a member of HVBO in 1974, and soon after became the Head Clinician for the association. To this day, she continues to run the training classes for all new officials. Muggsy became the HVBO Chairperson for basketball in 1980 and remained in that position for many years. In 1982 she began attending the NYSGBOA's meetings, and in 1984 was elected to an executive position on the State Board. She served three terms as President of New York State, with each term lasting six years. Throughout the years Muggsy has officiated both at the collegiate and high school levels and was a long time assignor of the NAIA Collegiate Conference. She is currently serving as the Member-at-Large on the State Executive Board, and as secretary for the WPWBOA.
Treasurer: Ferd Scaglione - Ferd has been officiating HS Girls Basketball since 2003. Over the last two summers, he has attended four officiating camps and has recently become involved in officiating DIII Women's College Basketball. Ferd has been treasurer of the WPWBOA since the 2009-2010 season.
Member at Large: Michael Duncanson - Michael is a 22 year resident of Westchester County and a basketball official since 1995.
Michael has officiated on the high school level and was selected to work in multiple post season games and a Class A final.
He is a counselor and advocate, serving WPWBOA in his second term as Member At Large.
